Most of the entrance exams for Medical Colleges in India are held in the months of April / May / June for the academic year starting July / August. Generally, the syllabus of the entrance test is based on the course outline of the class XI and XII NCERT syllabus. The knowledge is tested in Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology. And the results are published in the month of July / August / Sept.
Going forward, from the year 2013 the MHRD and MCI shall be conducting a single entrance test for all State and AIPMT affiliated medical colleges in India, called National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET).
