Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) are institutions of national importance established to build a solid foundation of scientific and technical knowledge and thus to prepare competent and motivated engineers and scientists. The IITs offer courses like Bachelor’s degree in a no. of engineering, technological and scientific disciplines, M. Sc. Integrated courses in pure and applied sciences and degree wherein both B. Tech and M. Tech degrees.
The examination is held on 2nd Sunday of April (i.e. 8th April, 2012).
Paper-1: 09.00 to 12.00 hrs and Paper-2: 14.00 to 17.00 hrs (IST).
Declaration of Result of IIT-JEE is on mid May (i.e., 18th May, 2012)
It is important to note here that as per the proposal given by the MHRD and the IIT bodies, the IIT-JEE and AIEEE shall not be held from 2013 session. Instead, ISEET shall be the pan-India level entrance test for all science and engineering institutes like IITs, NITs, IIITs, etc. The details of the same are give in the Entrance Exams (Engineering)section of our website.
In IIT-JEE 2011, 800 Aakashians selected with 5 ranks (AIR-1, 3, 4, 8, 9) out of top 10, 26 ranks out of top 100 in General Category and 62 ranks out of top 100 in All Categories.
