Most of the entrance exams for Engineering Colleges in India are held in the months of April / May / June for the academic year starting July / August. Syllabus of the entrance test is based on the class of XI & XII. And their results are published in the month of July / August / Sept.

Going forward, from the Session - 2013 the MHRD, Govt. of India has proposed to conduct a single entrance test for all IITs, NITs, IIITs and all other State & IIT-JEE affiliated Engineering colleges in India, called ISEET stands for Indian Science-Engineering Eligibility Test. ISEET will be the common admission/entrance test for undergraduate or bachelor level degree programs at India's most of the government and private Engineering/Science Institutions/Colleges/Universities.
